Afsaneh M. Beschloss
Afsaneh M. Beschloss, president and chief executive of The Rock Creek Group, serves on the Ford Foundation Board of Trustees. She is chair of the board's Investment Committee and a member of the Transactions Subcommittee and Economic Opportunity and Assets Committee.
From 2001 to 2003, Ms. Beschloss was chief executive and chief investment officer of Carlyle Asset Management Group. Before joining Carlyle, Ms. Beschloss was treasurer and chief investment officer of the World Bank, and director of investment and manager of its Energy Sector Management Program. Earlier, she worked at J.P. Morgan in corporate finance in London and New York and for Shell International Group Planning in London. She taught international trade at Oxford University, from which she holds an M.Phil. in economics.
Ms. Beschloss is a trustee of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Sesame Workshop, the Urban Institute and World Resources Institute and a director of Temple-Inland Inc. and AMB Property Corporation. She also serves on the finance committee of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and on the investment committees at the Smithsonian Institution, the United Nations and WETA, a public television station in the Washington, D.C., area.
